Position Specific Description

The Manager is responsible for leading a team responsible for the identification and quantification of optionality and risk in the NEER asset portfolio. The Manager is tasked with development and execution of innovative hedge strategies to address those risks and trade strategies to monetize the extrinsic value inherent in the assets and their contracts. Activities may involve negotiation of energy management services agreements, onboarding new assets with grid operator, keeping abreast of market tariff changes, energy market consultations with internal and 3rd party customers, optimized scheduling of assets in the day-ahead energy and ancillary service markets, as well as performance reporting on the effectiveness of hedging and optimization activities.This position requires a deep understanding of power and fuel markets and an ability to assimilate information from and work closely with multiple disciplines including: senior management, business management, financial analysis, accounting, risk analytics, risk management, origination, power asset development, credit, finance, commodity traders and quantitative analysts. The Manager is expected to coach their team members to expand their knowledge of energy market fundamentals and technical analysis.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for managing a group of individuals involved in physical power trading, fuel management and the scheduling activities of the company's natural gas and fuel oil transportation alternatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Oversees 24-hour operations desk, including power trading and fuel management
•   Oversees scheduling activities, including the optimization of the company’s natural gas and fuel oil transportation alternatives
•   Performs the functions of the "Responsible Employee" for NERC compliance
•   Promotes, cultivates, and maintains a culture of compliance within the group
•   Supports the Florida Cost Based Broker System (FCBBS) through continued participation on the Board
•   Provides interface with System Operations, Power Generation Division and natural gas pipelines on a daily basis and during critical events
•   Develops and maintains systems and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient operations
•   Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Ability to work extended hours
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
•  Experience:7+ years
•  Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years
