Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal or Sr Principal Systems Engineer at its Subsystem and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Systems Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting Electronic Warfare and Radar Development programs. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform hands-on integration and testing of sophisticated Electronic Warfare and Radar systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments.
Develop firmware for test stations and integrate station hardware.
Generate and update system and sub-system level specifications and ensure verification traceability (tracing requirements to test plans/procedures/results).
Use modeling and simulation tools to expedite testing of individual units before all system components are available and for troubleshooting and repair of failed units.
Model and simulate real-time system operational environments and develop software that represent projected system behavior.
Participate in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for verifying system requirements.
Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
Perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive reports.
Foster team collaboration to solve complex engineering problems and ensure project milestones are achieved.
Identify and implement process improvements within the team to enhance productivity and quality of deliverables.
**This position may be filled at the Principal Engineer Systems OR Sr. Principal Engineer Systems level.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer Systems:
Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 3 years of direct relevant experience with Master’s degree; Minimum of 1 years of direct relevant experience with PhD.
Proficient in firmware development, MATLAB, Simulink, VHDL Coder, etc.
Basic understanding of Radar or EW principles.
Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems.
Knowledge of embedded systems design and implementation.
Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation.
Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance.

Minimum of 9 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 7 years of direct relevant experience with Master’s degree; Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with PhD.
