Tax Specialist II- REMOTE

The Tax Specialist II will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day success of the Tax Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the completion of tasks related to maintaining client tax profiles and ensuring a smooth client experience.  In addition, the Tax Specialist II will serve as a key contributor to larger team and organizational initiatives to drive improvement and efficiency as we continue to grow.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

• Independently research and resolve complex tax notices that may involve multiple tax periods, multiple tax codes and/or multiple FEINs
• Serves as point of contact to handle escalated tax issues that affect business disruptions like tax liens, warrants, liquor license, etc.
• Handle more complex tasks, including new hire reporting, daily audit of payroll tax liabilities and returning funds to churn clients
• Responsible to file monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns 
• Participate in special projects and/or other duties assigned
• Knowledge/ability to perform all tasks expected of a Tax Specialist I

• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• 2 years experience working in a similar role
• Attention to detail
• Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Actively to multi-task with a focus on time management 
• Ability to use independent judgment to resolve issues
• Ability to adapt to change and varying job responsibilities
• Effectively manage time and self-start projects
• Prior experience in a payroll customer service and/or payroll service bureau role
• Strong work ethic
• Comfortable working with sensitive/confidential information
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$54,000—$86,000 USD
