The Mission of the Office of Inspector General
The mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is to assist the Commissioner of Education in achieving the department's mission of increasing student proficiency and maintaining an accountability system that measures student progress. The OIG accomplishes this by providing independent audits and reviews of programs and activities, conducting investigations of alleged violations, and offering consulting services to assist management in their efforts to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

Job Description
This is an analyst position within the Office of Inspector General (OIG). As an analyst, the person in this position is responsible for receiving and processing complaints received by the OIG and performing other administrative duties as described below. The position assesses the nature of the complaints, advises complainants of the course of action taken, makes appropriate referrals to other entities, and completes complaint forms in the case management system to document the inquiry or complaint. This position also assists investigators in conducting investigative fieldwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:
- This position assists investigators in conducting research, conducting preliminary interviews, and/or obtaining other needed information/documentation regarding investigations.
- This position reviews investigative reports and correspondence to ensure that reports are organized in accordance with Department publications style and procedures.
- This position serves as the OIG liaison in reviewing and referring for action, matters received via the Commissioner’s correspondence tracking system (Corrflow).
- This position independently composes letters of referral, memorandums, and other general correspondence.
