About the role

Site: Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization, Inc.

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.

The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham’s unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations, ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.

We are located at 56 New Driftway (Suite 101) in Scituate, MA. As an Internal Medicine office, we offer a full range of primary care services – from routine check-ups and health screenings to complex diagnostic evaluation and treatment – for adult patients. With only 6 providers total, our small yet mighty team operates in a close-knit, supportive, and collaborative practice environment.

Are you ready to bring your talent to this office and join us in moving community-based ambulatory care forward?

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time, 32-hour Medical Assistant to support our practice onsite Monday through Thursday 9:00am-5:30pm

As true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the care team. We ideally aim to have our clinical support staff members working 1:1 with an assigned provider, but they do cross-cover, rotate, and collaborate with other providers as needed. They see upwards of 20+ patients per day.

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, examinations, procedures, immunizations, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.
Please note: we do our best to keep all employees in their assigned departments; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments or other sites during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes). Medical Assistants employed by this practice routinely cross-cover in our onsite Walk-In Phlebotomy Lab as well.
