This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Development Manager to lead Blue Origin’s Scheduling and Planning Technology team. This leader will manage a team of skilled software developers and drive them to execute an ambitious roadmap.

Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of approximately 9 software engineers, while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Regularly presenting strategic initiatives to Sr. Directors and other executives.
Collaborating extensively with Senior and Principal engineers to identify optimal technical architectures.
Driving their team’s operational excellence and delivering industry-leading, high-quality technical solutions.
Overseeing the design, implementation and launch of manufacturing, scheduling, planning and execution software.
Owning critical workstreams on complex, years-long projects.
Optimizing software development processes to enhance productivity and quality.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, outstanding leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in aerospace.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Proven track record of successfully leading software development projects from inception to delivery.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
Experience in distributed backend systems and cloud-based environments, such as AWS.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for space exploration and a commitment to Blue Origin’s mission.
Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with manufacturing, especially scheduling, planning or execution.
Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in aerospace.
