Job Description
The Ryan Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician floater. The individual will rotate through all outpatient services to gain knowledge and experience so they can effectively provide coverage during vacations and on busy days. Areas in which the individual will be trained to work include Ophthalmology, Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, Primary Care and Dermatology.
The individual in this position will rotate through all specialty services providing additional nursing support to outpatient clinics.
Responsibilities will include:
- Obtaining lab work on outpatients
- Instructing veterinary students and veterinary nursing students on patient care
- Patient triage
- Assisting with discharges/billing/scheduling
- Client communication
- Venipuncture/IV catheter placement
- Sedation of stable patients
We are hiring at all levels for this position. Minimum starting salaries increase with each level. Relevant education, experience, skills, and licenses/ certifications are among the factors considered in salary offers.

Qualifications
Must have strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills. Must also be flexible and willing to work in multiple areas. This nurse must be flexible and able to handle changes to their daily routine. There is a physical requirement which includes lifting > 20 pounds, kneeling and bending frequently and for extended periods of time.
Must be a CVT or board eligible.
Veterinary Technician A: CVT or board eligible--must sit for boards within 3 months of hire. 0–1-year experience
Veterinary Technician B: CVT and 2-3 years of experience
