Arbors Management Inc has an opening for a qualified Building Maintenance Technician at two smaller Senior & Disabled independent living buildings located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time position will allow you to use your skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall and grounds-keeping. Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (or similar). This position will have rotating on-call for after hours emergencies. The on-call is shared with the other maintenance staff. As the Building Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing physical and visible inspection of property grounds including outside areas, indoor commons areas and individual apartment units
- Communicating with tenants regarding needed repairs
- Performing needed repairs which will consist of the following:
- Painting
- Drywall repair
- Basic electrical repair (switches, outlets, fixtures, etc.)
- Basic plumbing repair (leaks, fixture changes, drain clogs, etc.)
- Cleaning including floors, restrooms and other public areas
- Grounds-keeping including grass cutting and snow removal
- Completing work orders for all repairs
- Working with the property manager for work instructions
- Handling emergency calls after hours as needed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience working in a building maintenance position (or related experience)
- Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, stoop, crawl and/or climb for the duration of an 8-hour shift
- Ability to perform work in all skill areas listed above
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to use a computer
- Must pass pre-employment drug and background screen
- Must have valid drivers license and personal vehicle
