Job Description
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst II will lead in the development and administration of all Hyperion EPM applications utilized for company reporting of financial results as well as compilation of annual budgets and forecasts. This includes the maintenance and upgrade of these systems to support continued business growth. The incumbent will partner cross-functionally with other departments to ensure their reporting needs are met. This person will also provide support to reporting and process improvement projects, support improved efficiencies and analysis capabilities and help improve decision making capabilities across the organization. As a senior developer on the Hyperion team, the role will also require training staff leveled analysts to understand more complex scripting and enhancements of the Hyperion system. This role will require the person to be the primary Hyperion technical contact for OCA and OSTA.
Job Duties
- Interacts with the functional teams, technical teams and business stakeholders to optimize and maintain the overall Hyperion EPM reliability, availability and performance.
- Responsible for implementing, maintaining and supporting the technical environment of all Hyperion EPM solutions.
- Must be able to implement and develop more complex technical solutions and not just maintain an existing system.
- Must be able to train other team members use and improve Hyperion processes through automation and advanced scripting.
- As a member of the Corporate Finance department, will work with various personnel within the organization to facilitate accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting.
- Must understand consolidation principles such as: currency translation, inter-company eliminations, allocations and legal entity vs. segmental reporting.
- Works closely with other department members and divisional finance teams to help coordinate budget and forecast processes for the Americas.
- Consolidates departmental projections within Hyperion systems, maintains and updates allocation scripts and ensures reporting and analysis requirements related to the process are met.
- Provides support to end-users of the financial systems in regards to Hyperion Reporting Studio, Smart View, Essbase Data Forms and other Hyperion EPM systems.
- Develops and maintains financial and accounting systems that will provide control integrity of data and management information in the most efficient manner.
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures as they relate to these systems.
- Ensures that these policies and procedures are J-Sox compliant.
- Ensures all subsystems are properly interfacing into financial reporting systems.
- Supports the maintenance of the general ledger within Oracle and SAP.
- This includes updating all new metadata as well as preparing and maintaining the general ledger user manual and general ledger account description guide.
- Supports training efforts as necessary including Hyperion, Oracle, SAP and other applications.
- Coordinates requirements with ITS as necessary.
- Supports the consolidation of the Olympus Tokyo Monthly Quarterly Semi-Annual and Annual Financial Packages and additional management reporting.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science or equivalent knowledge is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of extensive experience with Hyperion Planning, FDM, DRM and HFM.
- Experience with complex calculation scripts, reporting scripts, rules files, & business rules; experience working with Aggregate Storage Cubes (ASO Cube), and understanding the MaxL and MDX languages is a must.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills are necessary.
- Team leadership skills are required and training staff level counterparts is required.
- Should have the ability to understand Hyperion issues and be able to work with ITS to resolve the issue.
