Freight Audit & Payment Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Freight Audit & Payment Accountant to support our logistics and transportation team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the freight payment and audit processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as 3GTMS for freight bill management and TriumphPay for accounts payable processing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the freight audit and payment process, ensuring all freight bills are accurately audited, processed, and paid in a timely manner.
• Support the utilization of 3GTMS to optimize shipping operations and ensure data accuracy in the transportation management system.
• Aid in managing relationships with carriers and vendors, assisting in compliance with contracts and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Contribute to the implementation and utilization of TriumphPay to streamline payment processes and improve transaction transparency.
• Collaborate with IT and senior team members to address any system issues, ensuring smooth operation of software tools.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Participate in analyzing transportation and freight cost data to identify trends, savings opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
• Provide support to the team on the use of transportation management and payment systems.
• Assist in preparing regular reports for management on freight payment trends, issues, and performance metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field.
• Desirable: +2 years of experience in a related field, with exposure to freight audit and payment processes being a plus.
• Familiarity with software such as 3GTMS and TriumphPay is desirable.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
