We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description:

Your way to impact
You'll design, develop, and optimize core systems that helps PayPal’s developers to roll out software at scale. You will be technically leading a cross-domain team which manages PayPal’s developer eco system supporting 5k+ internal developers. You will apply sound SRE principles and ensure systems are reliable, secure and scalable.

Your day-to-day:
As a Lead Software Engineer – Backend, you'll define the technical roadmap and drive innovation. You'll collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver impactful solutions.

• Strong analytical skills to analyze requirements and transform into scalable software designs.

• Strong advocate of code craftsmanship, good coding standards and use of tools that will improve the quality of the delivered code

• Define and execute the backend technology strategy.

What do you need to bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 8+ years of backend development experience.

• Proficiency in java and python

• Experience in analyzing raw data using python, R or other tools

• Leadership in designing and architecting scalable backend systems with a focus on cloud-native
