Task requirements  

STRAT AND PLANS COORD

• The Strategy Director provides strategic direction and development support to NBC(P). This is achieved through the efficient management of the Strategy and Planning Team, stakeholder management and support to the external customers of the Future Operating Model (FOM). Proactively identifying and managing risks and issues on behalf of NBC that are underpinned by clear governance. Provision and oversight of the Management Board members and their interactions and responsibilities, ensuring that the activities undertaken are in accordance with the strategic objectives of Portsmouth Naval Base and the wider RN.

• The Strat and Plans Coord will be responsible to the Strat Dir for the efficient organisation of the numerous work-strands particular to the department in pursuit of the NB strategic aspirations.

Key responsibilities:

 

Primary Purposes.

The Strat Coord is responsible for the following:

 

• Provision of direct support to the Strat Dir, coordinating departmental outputs in support of the daily battle rhythm to meet the NB strategic objectives.
• Support the SO1 in the tracking of internal tasks including the management of JIRA.
• Oversee N1 support services for the Strat and Plans Dept.
• Support to the Management Board for cross working, emergent issues, and projects.

Secondary Purposes.

 

• To assist in the co-ordination of meeting records, actions and staff-work required in support of the Strat/ Plans departmental outputs.
• To provide additional support as directed by the Strat Dir.
• The Strat and Plans Coord is accountable to SO1 Strat Plans who is the First Reporting Officer with the Strat Dir as the Second Reporting Officer.
• Authority. Role is authorised to liaise directly with the following representatives in support of Strat and Plans outputs:
• All Directorates comprising the management board organisation.
• Other departmental representatives and authorities within the NBC(P) Headquarters.
• RN and RM establishments, MOD(N) departments and appropriate civilian authorities.
• Key HM Naval Base (Portsmouth) staff.

 

Core Competences required:

 

Essential:*

1. The Post Holder is to be OF2-OF3 (A recommend for promotion on most recent OJAR will also be considered). The postholder should ideally be SQEP in MoDNet, Sharepoint, MS Office, with experience in Agile Methodologies, Working Together, Improvement and Change as a desirable addition.

Learning and Development 

 

Line manager and post holder are both responsible for ensuring the post incumbent’s training needs are identified and agreed within their Personal Training and Development Plan and reviewed at 6 month
