Dependent on project, Manager, Learning & Research may be a Project Leader with project team supervision and leadership development responsibilities. Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $80,000 - $121,007 annually. There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships and consulting work. In collaboration with the hiring manager, the People and Culture team calculates experience based on the candidate’s most current resume. When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates that possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications). Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint to allow for continued growth in the role over time.

SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Manager, Learning & Research is responsible for managing the implementation strategy to evaluate and share the impact of our professional learning on teachers and students to strengthen Teaching Lab’s research design capacity and learning organization culture. The incumbent will support the development, iteration, and execution of research designs for internal impact evaluation; act as primary Learning & Research liaison on partner projects to collect impact evaluation data from educators and support with results interpretation and dissemination; and manage user-centered design projects to support Teaching Lab’s mission and align with the values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- The Manager, Learning & Research will hold responsibilities in the following functional areas:
- Internal Evaluation of Program Impact
- Focus: evaluation design, evaluation tools design, analysis, data reporting, and data management
- Manage the implementation of Teaching Lab’s overall program and impact evaluation strategy
- Act as a liaison to specific partner projects to:
- Develop, iterate, and execute research designs under the direction of the Director, Learning & Research
- Advise project leader and client partnership managers on the details and timeline of data collection
- Support the analysis of data collected from partners
- Interpret and translate data findings to the internal project teams
- Support the dissemination of results by creating communications and coaching internal teams on how to interpret and discuss findings with partners
- Develop, reiterate, user-test, and finalize data collection tools, such as surveys, focus groups and interview guides, and other rubrics
- Provide secondary/additional data analysis support to Data Analysts and the Director, Research & Program Evaluation, including:
- Development of “business rules” for data analysis, such as criteria for n size, protocols for missing data, etc.
- Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
- Interpreting results for meaning and actions
- Create visual reports or presentations for internal and external audiences
- Support, and eventually lead, the reporting of results and findings to a variety of audiences, including funders
- Support in the management of the data repository, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining data sources and codebooks, as well as reviewing internal data dashboards for accuracy
- Develop and manage the structure for research and data sharing with external partners, such as school districts and external researchers, including reviewing data sharing agreements, managing external research review processes (such as district Institutional Review Boards), and acting as a liaison between Teaching Lab and school systems to obtain data from partners for the purpose of impact evaluation<
