Controller / Director of Accounting

The Controller/Director of Accounting will oversee the daily operations of the accounting team and provide sufficient guidance and training to keep the team at the highest level of skill necessary to meet Nox Health Group needs and objectives, including (1) the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the goals and objectives; (2) internal controls and compliance; (3) transaction processing; (4) policies/procedures; (5) design of financial systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Core Accounting Functions – General Ledger, Chart of accounts & cost/profit centers, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, Internal Control Function, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivables, and Intercompany consolidation including compliance with and application of GAAP accounting.
- General Ledger – ensure proper reconciliation of all Income Statement, Balance Sheet GL accounts and accurate representation of Trial Balance Report
- Chart of Accounts and Cost/Profit Centers – evaluate appropriateness of COA and Cost/Profit design and maintenance process to ensure appropriate use of GL Accounts and Cost/Profit centers on monthly basis
- Accounts Payable – design and maintenance of processes to ensure appropriate coding of expenses, appropriateness of accruals and prepaid balances on monthly basis
- Manage the process of monthly bank reconciliations
- Fixed/Intangible Assets – design and maintain a process/system of tracking assets and appropriate depreciation/amortization of such as well as monitor that capitalization of intangible assets aligns with GAAP accounting.
- Accounts Receivables – ensure that AR ledger balances are supported by RCM subledger details and appropriateness or bad-debt reserve
- Reconcile intercompany receivables and payables and ensure proper elimination of intercompany charges during monthly financial consolidation
- Partner with business units and departments and understand and advise on appropriate relevant accounting matters to ensure accurate representation of financial results.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support business units to measure their financial performance that drive improved financial performance.
- Maintain and suggest improvements on financial system software that improve efficiency and accuracy in the financial process.
- Support and coordinate needs and responses for external auditors and examiners and ensure that any post audit corrections are made in ERP(s) and the ERP Financials are tying to the audited financial statements.
- Coordinate tax reporting to assure tax compliance and timely completion of all returns, taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes (Personal Property, Real Estate, Income, Sales and Use). Support and coordinate use of external tax experts.
Requirements
- CPA (active status) is a must
- BBA (with additional hours required to qualify for CPA license) and/or MBA
- 4+ years of controller experience
