Riverside Research is seeking a Systems Engineer to support AFLCMC/HNI at Hanscom AFB. 

Theatre Deployable Communications (TDC) provides communications support for deployed Air Force operations in a modular, scalable family of communications packages (voice, data, intra-site transmission, etc.), satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals, and network management packages that are tailored to meet various Air Force mission needs. TDC is comprised of three functions: Integrated Communications Access Packages (ICAP), Network Control Center-Deployed (NCC- D), and Satellite Terminals.

All positions at Riverside Research require US citizenship.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Scripting, automating builds, applying STIGs lockdowns, documenting processes, and assisting with user help tickets

  • Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications
  • Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications
  • Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles.
  • Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems
  • Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
  • Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes
  • Capable of performing: problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, “Set based design” for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA) and cost versus capability trade off analysis
  • Capable of implementing Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across system Lifecycle

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Previous experience in systems engineering role
  • 3 years of experience working in the DoD
  • Experience with Microsoft software to include one or more of the following: MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, WSUS, and PowerShell scripting. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with VMWare, Virtual Machine (VM) building and maintenance, logging servers, and backup servers is a plus
  • Active DoD TS Clearance is preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, System Engineering or related engineering field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with embedded systems, Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
  • Experience working in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment
  • Experience supporting a Software Development team and/or participating/guiding the development life-cycle.
  • Experience supporting DoD Cyber acquisition programs highly preferred
  • Experience working with Trusted Systems and Networks assessment, Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (AF SEAM), Security Information Event Management (SIEM), and/or System Engineering Plan (SEP).
    Knowledge of Joint Cyber Operations and Cyber Weapon Systems is a plus
