Job Description Summary

We are seeking a passionate and motivated junior specialist to lead an exciting project on antagonistic molecular interactions between bacteria and phage. In this role, you will learn and perform a wide range of molecular biology experiments and present them to diverse scientific audiences. A small portion of your time will be dedicated to managing lab inventory, training new members, and developing protocols. We strive to provide excellent training and mentorship alongside opportunities for cutting-edge research with real-world implications.

This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a diverse repertoire of molecular biology experiments
  • Analyze data and distill findings into compelling presentations
  • Manage lab inventory and organization to foster efficiency and collaboration
  • Learn basic bioinformatics and molecular biology skills
  • Perform molecular biology experiments (e.g. clone recombinant DNA constructs, engineer microbial strains, measure bacterial growth, analyze protein and RNA expression, etc.)
  • Manage standard operating procedures, manage lab reagents and equipment, track inventory
  • Attend and participate in lab meetings and other science meetings
  • Record, analyze, and interpret experimental results
  • Read literature and attend seminars
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
