Job Description
This position is on a 4-10's schedule; Monday-Thursday (5am - 3:30pm) = 3 DAY WEEKENDS
As a Production Supervisor you will oversee daily management of robot and manual welding, manual machining, forging, heat treat, and plating areas.
Primary responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Responsible for direction of production leads as well as all associates within area
- Initiate and facilitate area business and process improvements in support of business targets
- Support workload and schedule requirements to develop execution plans, including staffing, support personnel requirements, and resource planning
- Communicate objectives, status and other issues as necessary, i.e. lead the daily shopfloor management round or regular scheduled team meeting
- Support/implement performance management system including identification and achievement of goals
- Ethically protect company resources and best interest
- Establish safety procedures to assure a clean safe work environment is promoted and maintained
- Manage resources in support of safety, quality, delivery, engagement, and cost
- Develop, maintain, and improve positive employee relations
- Support multi-machine operations to optimize utilization
- Coach and develop a highly skilled workforce that has a primary focus of machining
- Participate in and make recommendations towards hiring, performance reviews, salary reviews, and performance management
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
- Leadership experience required (supervisory, lead, back-up lead)
- Degree or coursework towards degree preferred
- Machining experience required, 5+ years preferred
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Willing to adjust work schedule to attend leadership meetings and/or workshops
- Experience with Continuous Improvement tools & methods (preferred)
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Ability to give presentations (formal and informal to both direct labor and executives)
- Able to work in manufacturing shop environment, and able to be on the shop floor for long periods of time
