Job Description

This position is on a 4-10's schedule; Monday-Thursday (5am - 3:30pm) = 3 DAY WEEKENDS

As a Production Supervisor you will oversee daily management of robot and manual welding, manual machining, forging, heat treat, and plating areas.

Primary responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Responsible for direction of production leads as well as all associates within area
  • Initiate and facilitate area business and process improvements in support of business targets
  • Support workload and schedule requirements to develop execution plans, including staffing, support personnel requirements, and resource planning
  • Communicate objectives, status and other issues as necessary, i.e. lead the daily shopfloor management round or regular scheduled team meeting
  • Support/implement performance management system including identification and achievement of goals
  • Ethically protect company resources and best interest
  • Establish safety procedures to assure a clean safe work environment is promoted and maintained
  • Manage resources in support of safety, quality, delivery, engagement, and cost
  • Develop, maintain, and improve positive employee relations
  • Support multi-machine operations to optimize utilization
  • Coach and develop a highly skilled workforce that has a primary focus of machining
  • Participate in and make recommendations towards hiring, performance reviews, salary reviews, and performance management
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience required (supervisory, lead, back-up lead)
  • Degree or coursework towards degree preferred
  • Machining experience required, 5+ years preferred
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Willing to adjust work schedule to attend leadership meetings and/or workshops
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools & methods (preferred)
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Ability to give presentations (formal and informal to both direct labor and executives)
  • Able to work in manufacturing shop environment, and able to be on the shop floor for long periods of time
