Medical Support Professional

Position Summary

The Medical Professional provides support related to medical management for the residents in the program and will report to the Program Director. The MSP will ensure continuity of care of the residents in conjunction with the Nurse, Resource Coordinator and staff. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

 

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Work with residents to prepare them for upcoming appointments and ensure that the necessary documents required for a successful completion of the appointments are prepared
  • Coordination of medication and escalation of errors as required
  • Participate in the weekly medical care meetings and present concerns, referrals and observations at the meeting.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulation requirements
  • In consultation with the nurse and resource coordinator provide in-service training to team members and residents on directions of newly prescribed medication regimen according to prescribing doctor’s order
  • Assist participants with ADLs as needed 
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Valic Driver's License.

 

Qualifications

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Medical Care coordination plus a High School Diploma/GED may substitute for an Associate Degree.

Excellent Communication skills (written and oral) including interpersonal skills

Ability to speak effectively before groups of individuals and communicate professionally with outside agencies 

Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects

Demonstrate good problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Must possess a current valid State Driver’s License

Must be 21 years or older

 

Working conditions

This position might require the Medical Professional to work on times and days that are not his/her typical work schedule. This position requires the Medical professional to take phone calls during times and days that he/she is not typically scheduled to work. This position will require the transportation of residents and professional interactions by phone, email and in person contact with various health and mental health providers and agencies.

RHD employees working inj programs within the City of Philadelphia are required to provide proof of Covid vaccination. If not fully vaccinated, they must receive at least on shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. Final doses must be received within 8 weeks of hire.

The Corporate Office is not a service location. Therefore, RHD has determined that vaccinations are not required to work out of or to visit the office.
