Roles and Responsibilities

As our new Senior Java Backend Engineer, you are an integral part in building & crafting our best-of-breed messaging solutions used by the 8 of the 10 largest tech companies in the world. We are running high scalable messaging systems with a modern stack consisting of Java with Spring Boot with k8s for workloads. Asynchronous messaging either through RabbitMQ or Kafka with deploys usually pushed through GitOps to AWS.

The teams are small, empowered, self-sustaining characterized by close collaboration with the vision to build the best messaging APIs to pioneer the way the world communicates!

As our new Senior Backend Developer, you will:

• Be right in the middle of turning user stories into a working product - this is a hands-on code design and coding role
• Perform code reviews
• Learn new things. We are constantly looking for new solutions, services, and opportunities to make ourselves better and more efficient as teams and individuals

Who are you?

Passion for coding is the most important ingredient for success. An ideal candidate would be a  Java Spring Boot developer with deep experience of cloud native technologies combined with knowledge within messaging services. We are a bunch of enthusiastic problem solvers who enjoy solving complex matters and we’d like you to join if you feel the same way. Teamwork and communication skills are essential for being succesful.

In order to contribute in this role you have:

• Master degree in Informatics or Computer Science
• Senior level of hands-on experience in Software Engineering with moderns Software development principles
• Deep understanding and experience of Java
• Built services with cloud native technologies
• You are comfortable working in an international environment in English

Big plus!

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have experience from:

• Working with different messaging services like SMS, RCS, or conversational messaging channels like WhatsApp, LINE and WeChat
• Reactive Java (Project Reactor/Spring Webflux)
