We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Engineer experienced in highly available cloud database and services for a role in our Data Platform group focused on building and operating our cloud database and microservices infrastructure. The Data platform group owns all application and analytics data resources with a focus on deploying and configuring the underlying infrastructure, including data pipelines, and data security, to ensure data availability and uptime.

What you will be responsible for: 

• Deploy cloud resources and configurations using DevOps tooling, preferably Terraform.
• Deploy, configure and manage AWS services like RDS, Aurora, MSK, Redis, Firehose, redshift, Kinesis, etc.
• Proactively monitor, tune, and optimize queries supporting multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Monitor production database health and performance, including participation in on-call rotation
• Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to meet data requirements and integrate databases with other systems
• Conduct code reviews and perform governance/approval functions.

Required Skills:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience supporting relational database solutions—including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL—in large-scale production environments.
• Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for deploying and managing resources in public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Proven experience in application development, preferably with Python and/or Java.
• Familiarity with cloud deployment concepts, including CI/CD, microservices (Kubernetes), networking, and security.
• Solid understanding of data security, governance, and access control best practices.
• Highly collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Experience working in Agile engineering environments.
