Background:

The Xue Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the field of chemical biology. Our lab focuses on developing peptide-based drug candidates and utilizing chemical biology methods to unravel the molecular mechanisms of proteins and drugs, with the ultimate goal of advancing next-generation disease early diagnosis and therapeutics.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a recent PhD graduate with a strong background in chemical biology and analytical chemistry to contribute to our collaborative projects as part of an interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, be able to work independently, and have experience leading projects to successful completion.

Specific Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying various chemical biology methods to understand the mechanisms of drug candidates in different biological contexts.

 

Position Requirements:

• PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics or related field.

• Significant experience and knowledge of chemical biology, including expertise in molecular biology tools, mass spectroscopy and assays development.

• Keen interest in applying chemical biology approaches to understand drug protein interactions, collaborating with bioorganic chemistry scientists to develop next-generation detection or therapeutic solutions.

• Strong research background and a track record of publications in the field of chemical biology and biochemistry.

• Proven expertise in analyzing complex biological samples utilizing chemical biology and molecular biology tools.

• Highly motivated and creative candidates with a strong publication record are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation Statement

 

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $73,588.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
