The IDS Project Manager plays a key role in the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of course development and instructional design initiatives across the CPS portfolio. This position manages the operations of Instructional Design Services (IDS) projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality online courses and the student learning experience.

Serving as a central point of coordination between program leadership, faculty, subject matter experts, instructional designers, and operational partners, this position aligns human and technology resources to support scalable course development. The IDS Project Manager is responsible for establishing project management practices, monitoring timelines and deliverables, balancing workloads, and supporting strategic initiatives that advance CPS goals.

Responsibilities
Project & Portfolio Management
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of course development, revision, and maintenance projects across the IDS portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and implementation schedules.
  • Track project progress and proactively identify risks, barriers, or delays; implement solutions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent projects while ensuring priorities align with institutional goals and deadlines.
  • Provide project management support for strategic initiatives, new program launches, and accreditation-related activities.
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee workflow and workload distribution across instructional designers and related contributors.
  • Partner with IDS leadership to ensure effective resource allocation and staffing plans.
  • Support the implementation of scalable systems and operational practices for continued growth.
  • Maintain accurate project records, dashboards, and status reports for leadership review.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as liaison between faculty, subject matter experts, academic program leaders, and the IDS team to align expectations and timelines.
  • Coordinate with enrollment, marketing, student support, technology, and operational teams as needed to support successful course launches.
  • Represent instructional design project needs and timelines in cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Act as an escalation point for project-related concerns requiring resolution.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate project outcomes and stakeholder feedback to recommend improvements.
