ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
- Completes the annual rural (truck) striping goals every year, including striping centerlines, edge lines, turning bay delineations, and all other highway markings through all rural areas of the district.
- Paints various new projects, chip seals, or emergency needs when necessary.
- Performs off-season duties, including disassembling and reassembling the striper truck's paint delivery systems. Must completely inspect, clean, maintain, and modify if needed, with a very small margin of error.
- Sets up safe traffic control.
- Safely operates and trains others to operate complex machinery in specialized applications.
- Performs and oversees all maintenance tasks.
- Operates single and tandem axle trucks, equipped with striper, plows, wing plow, sander, and chemical systems to remove snow and ice from roadway surface.
- Observes, verifies, and documents work activities of Highway Maintenance Assistants and Highway Maintenance Technicians.
- Assists manager in planning, assigning, and supervising.
- Provides advice and assistance on repair procedures needed for highways, equipment, and buildings.
