ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/Scientist to join our planning team. Our transportation, energy and infrastructure business are growing at a rapid pace, and we are seeking a senior leader to assist our Team with this growth.

This is a seller/doer type of position, so you will be driving business growth, working with clients, managing MSA contracts and task orders, driving capture plans and proposal writings with the necessary collaborating with an accomplished team of NEPA planners, ecologists, restoration ecologists, regulatory specialists, architectural historians, and archaeologist. You will oversee and support the preparation of environmental technical documents and proposal documents. You will support the growth and development of our team as a technical leader and mentor to junior staff. You will work with federal and state agency project managers, technical experts, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to successfully deliver projects on-time with high quality standards.

What you will be doing:

• Leading transportation focused biological and/or regulatory project teams and staff, including other consultants, on project tasks, including field surveys, agency coordination, and report and deliverable preparation.
• Managing all aspects of a project including DOT contacts, agency coordination, budget control, invoicing, schedule, personnel allocation/planning, technical approach, and contractor involvement.
• Leading regulatory and natural resource agency coordination and consultation efforts as required for endangered species and jurisdictional waters assessments.
• Writing technical reports and public environmental documents.
• Performing QA/QC review of project documents, reports, presentations, technical memorandums, and other work products with a focus on technical adequacy, regulatory compliance, and other specific requirements.
• Providing mentoring and training to staff as requested in all aspects of the position, including but not limited to technical expertise, project management skills, writing, professional development, and other consulting-specific skills.

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

• BS in biology, ecology, conservation biology, environmental science or related discipline.
• 8+ years of professional experience in field species surveys, vegetation mapping, site analysis, habitat assessments, and/or related experience
• 3+ years of project or task order management for ecological or regulatory projects
• Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

What we would like you to have (preferred qualifications):

• BS/MS in environmental science, environmental planning, biology, ecology, conservation biology, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with state and federal requirements applicable to state and local transportation services.
• Experience with GDOT Office of Environmental Services.
• Experience in multiple phases of project development, proposal preparation, staff and schedule management, and work product delivery.
