Job Title: Early Morning Delivery Driver - Production Services
- This is a part-time position averaging up to 28 hours per week.
Approximate Schedule:
- Thursdays: 4:30 am start time. 8-10 hour shift.
- Fridays: 4:30 am start time. 8-10 hour shift.
- Saturday: 8 am start time. 4+ hour shift.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for making various on-campus and off-campus deliveries, ensuring that goods are delivered to their proper locations. Deliveries can include mail, print orders, laundry, etc.
What you'll do in this role:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Make on and off campus deliveries to locations throughout Utah, while ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Assist with vehicle upkeep and maintenance
- Assist with campus mailrooms, dock organization, and other areas as needed.
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- A valid US Driver's License
- Previous truck/van driving experience is preferred.
A physical exam and lift test will be conducted as a part of the hiring process for this position.
Physical Effort
- Moderate – Physical effort represented by frequent handling of medium weight objects (approx. 20-50 lbs.) and materials, or use of medium weight hand tools. May require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions.
Environment
- Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions because of unavoidable need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments, etc.
Hazards
- Minimal existing or potential hazards
Typical Physical Efforts, Environmental Factors, and Hazards
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently (5 min, 8+ times per month)
- Walking and Standing (5+ hours, 5+ times per month)
- Performing repetitive arm and hand movements (5 hours, 5+ times per month)
- Exposure to all types of weather while walking in and out of buildings (6 hours, 5+ times per month)
- Exposure to high levels of noise from the operation of nearby equipment when sorting mail in the Campus Mail area (2+ hours, 5 times per month)
- Minimal risk of contact with unhealthy foreign substances (e.g., anthrax, influenza, cold viruses, etc.) -- (2 min, less than once every 6 months)
