Position Description

McKesson is looking for a hands-on AI Engineer Technical Lead to join its growing Generative AI team. You will work on greenfield projects within a flexible team with a start-up feel but with the stability of a successful corporation. You will have the ability to shape the products and make a real impact to the lives of others by creating the next generation of AI powered tools. 

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a strong, experienced hands-on Generative/Applied AI technical lead with a DevOps mindset who can bring an application from inception to production ensuring maintainability, quality, security and performance. The successful candidate will be expected to understand how to build, test, deploy and monitor enterprise grade applications using best practices.

• An accomplished communicator both verbal and written
• Understanding of agile and software development life cycle concept
• Work as part of the development team to break down high level requirements into small, testable, releasable components 
• Create effective automated tests
• Be able to work on several projects simultaneously
• Experience of working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Provide support for critical applications running in a production environment
• Mentor colleagues as needed

Minimum Requirements:

Typically requires 4+ years of experience of relevant experience

Critical Skills:

In depth knowledge/experience with the following:

• Python
• Azure Cloud
• Azure AI Services
• Generative AI and Large Language Models
• CI/CD using tools such as GitHub Actions
• Automated testing
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Rest APIs
• Authentication and Authorization frameworks
• Databases (relational and non-relational)
• Software development security fundamentals

Additional Experience:

• Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform
• Linux admin
• Scripting e.g. Bash

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science) or equivalent experience
