About The Student Wellness Center

The Student Wellness Center empowers students to make informed decisions regarding their health and wellness by providing evidence-based education, inclusive resources, and non-judgmental support. We offer an extensive collection of resources and information about various health and wellness topics.

Job Overview

 Under general supervision from the Associate Director the Student Wellness Center Program Manager will manage, design, develop, modify, and present alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) programs for the campus community.

Essential Functions

• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive student wellness prevention and awareness efforts; including but not limited to substance use, harm reduction, alcohol safety, and more. This includes, but is not limited to, presentations, monthly awareness events, workshops and trainings, and more. These awareness efforts may take place on evenings or weekends.

• Manage programming and plan events in the Student Wellness Center that align with various dimensions of wellness.

• Conduct assessment activities to acquire relevant data about prevalence, attitudes and perceptions about campus wellness issues, and the influence of environmental factors that contribute to wellness on campus.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate environmental prevention and awareness strategies, including, but not limited to, social norms marketing and creating a culture of respect.

• Provide guidance to other university departments in developing University and/or departmental student wellness policies, procedures, and programs.

• Utilize best-practices for prevention using ongoing research and benchmarking.

• Implement policies and procedures.

• Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests, and financial reports.

• Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.

• May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials.

• May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to students (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

• Serve on University and Division of Student Affairs committees that are responsible for shaping policies and programs that address the needs of students, particularly those regarding ATOD related issues.

• Write and coordinate grant funding around student wellness issues.

• Demonstrate cultural competence and inclusiveness in working with populations of diverse cultures and identities in addressing student wellness issues.

• Work to eliminate or modify environmental factors that contribute to wellness issues on campus and in the surrounding community.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
