SUMMARY:
Prepare, set-up, run, change tooling, tear down and clean out extruders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other unrelated duties may be assigned.
Prepare and supply materials, set up, run, change tooling, tear down, troubleshoot and clean out extruder. Be able to follow production standards and work instructions while accurately comparing and measuring products to ensure they meet specifications. Have full knowledge of heats, compounds, cutting, printing, slitting and other auxiliary operations. Know and use micrometers, gauges and other measuring devices. Maintain production records. Keep working areas and materials clean and orderly. Perform related duties to this job title as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must be proficient in U.S. English language which includes speaking, reading and writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business texts, customer documents, technical procedures or governmental and safety regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and suppliers. Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as interpersonal skills. Capable and comfortable in leading training sessions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or more up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must wear personal protection equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and hearing protection in PPE designated areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will be working in the factory about 100% of the time. The plant and office are non-smoking environments. The employee should expect warm working conditions during the summer months in the plant.
