This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.

Job Summary

The position within the client services team, is responsible for providing all levels of commercial banking product services to Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB) corporate clients. The position represents as the “Bank” when interacting with clients by making decisions in compliance with applicable regulations, laws, industry standard practice, and/or Bank’s Policy & Procedures therefore the position needs to be fully aware of them when accepting clients’ requests/instructions and preparing instructions in acceptable systems’ format that are forwarded to other service providing teams for processing. The product services include, but are not limited to, commercial lending & its legal documentations, deposit such as various accounts, remittance & Foreign Currency/Exchange, ACH, check issuance/deposit, trade finance, investment, and treasury.  

Primary Responsibilities include:  

Corporate Client Services (70%) – Service JCB Corporate Clients to execute their loans, investments, FX deals, trade finance activities and deposit products they have with the Bank.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of new/renewal loan, Time Deposit, exchange foreign currency and trade finance transactions via direct communication/negotiation with customers and accurate instructions to back office.
  • Develop, maintain and work to broaden and deepen a close relationship with clients through daily contact and good service.
  • Update and maintain a variety of databases, retrieve data to produce reports, conduct analyses and respond to client and management inquiries.
     

Control Functions (20%) – Perform operational risk controls and monitoring functions on daily basis in compliance with the standing procedures and policies, support relationship managers providing operational related data and respond to their inquiries.

Project Engagement (10%) – Participate in bank wide and/or department related projects, team enhancements, system upgrades, procedure updates, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 3 years or more of client services experience
  • Moderate knowledge in accounting, laws, regulations and market practice for commercial banking products
  • 3 years or more of commercial lending and deposit product knowledge and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-function and be able to work under high stress work environment
  • Strong organizations and teamwork as well as individual high performance
  • Advanced skills in MS Office and banking applications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and strategically with customers, business partners and peers throughout the enterprise

Additional skillsets required are high accuracy level as JCB has low tolerance of incidents while each operational incident could lead into monetary compensation, customer complaint, reputational risks, oral and written communication, extraordinary client delivery, accounting concepts, be able to work under pressure/fast-paced work environment and can multi-task.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $50K - $60K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
