The Senior Mental Health Community Liaison will work as part of an interdisciplinary, team-based program that builds school relationships for the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) and other school-based programs administered by Dell Medical School. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services.
This is a federally and state funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children, adolescents, and perinatal women.
This position has an end date of 8/31/2025, but may be renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals.
Educational activities are delivered in virtual, face-to-face, and hybrid environments. Employee is expected to attend and conduct training at various locations on and off-site, attend meetings to discuss success and obstacles of different projects, and pass additional background screening, including FBI fingerprinting, for our school and community partnerships. Ability to perform prolonged speaking engagements. Employee is able to be reimbursed for travel and travel-related cost to work locations outside of the Austin area to deliver educational sessions to students at their campuses.
Purpose
This position will serve as the clinical community liaison for TCHATT program and other school-based Texas Child Mental Health Programs. The Senior Mental Health Community Liaison will be responsible for developing and maintaining community relationships, identifying barriers, improving access through systems navigation, and providing mental health education and training to internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Mental Health Community Liaison will possess strong interpersonal skills and readiness to adopt new techniques and practices as determined by leadership. This position will work independently with a strong attention to detail, communicate effectively through oral and written word, and be committed to professional ethical and practice standards.
Responsibilities
Serves as an internal consultant and provides feedback on identified community mental health issues and referral processes. Establishes and maintains relationships with district leadership, school partners, and other external stakeholders through education, outreach, and routine onsite visits.
Develops and/or conducts presentations and provides education to external stakeholders on behavioral health topics and issues using tools and technologies appropriate for a variety of learning methods. Creates clinical content for internal and external use.
Supports the use of the relationship management system by identifying school-based resources and informs development of policies and procedures. Provides clinical oversight for new initiatives and programs. Completes data review and invoices, monitors outcomes, and creates action plans on an ongoing basis.
Represents TCHATT and other Texas Child Mental Health Programs at events, community meetings, and other public forums. Coordinates continuing education opportunities for staff. Supports collaboration with the outreach and communications team to ensure alignment and clinical content accuracy. Collects and provides data regarding outreach initiatives and activities.
Develops collaborative relationships with external stakeholders and provides consultation, advocacy, and systems navigation for all Texas Child Mental Health Programs.

Required Qualifications
Licensed as an LCSW, LMSW, LPC, or equivalent practiced clinician in the State of Texas. Five (5) years of professional experience in social work or a related
