How will you make a difference?
The successful candidate will lead the HR strategy for the Global operations organization within Wabtec; inclusive of ~10,000 professional and production employees across 100+ manufacturing entities in over 50 countries; both non-union and union. You will be critical in partnering strategically with Operations Senior Leadership, and their extended teams, to proactively identify and execute on both business priorities and driving culture change. In addition, you will serve as a member of the HR Leadership Team for the Company.
What do we want to know about you?
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Industrial Relations, Business, Psychology or related field from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a variety of progressive Human Resource positions, including Senior level client support
- Previous HR experience is a large, global manufacturing, mining or transportation company.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a large extended HR organization
- Previous Labor Relations leadership experience; including contract negotiations and union avoidance.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in human resources, Industrial/Labor Relations or Business Administration
- Previous merger, acquisition, and divestiture experience
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to influence & engage at all levels of the business
Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong coaching skills
Other:
Ability to travel to site locations as needed (~25% of time)
What will your typical day look like?
- Partner with the business leader to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives
- Partner with Operations leadership to develop, implement and oversee ongoing organizational strategy inclusive of workforce planning, resource deployment, restructuring, and reduction of the workforce as needed.
- Serve as an active member of the HR Leadership Team for the Company, collaborating on HR policies, procedures, processes, and practices.
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence in areas of talent management, talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, learning strategies, and employment counsel.
- Facilitate culture and communications throughout the Operations organization; work with leaders to ensure successful implementation of change efforts.
- Oversee recruiting, selection, talent development, succession planning, career pathing, early career programs and pipeline management for Global Operations organization.
- Be responsible for Operations compensation plans and rewards and recognition programs that are equitable and in line with the organization’s goals.
- Oversee Union Relations and Union Avoidance for the North American Operations organization.
- Be responsible for compensation plans and rewards and recognition programs that are equitable and in line with the organization’s goals.
- Partner with business leaders to develop and embed a contemporary organizational culture, increase diversity, and leverage change acceleration techniques to assist in driving broad change.
