Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a small, collaborative, and highly engaged Katz IT team supporting the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s academic mission. This role focuses on the administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise academic systems that serve the school’s community of students, faculty, and staff.
The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for configuring and managing enterprise academic systems used for student services, assessments, curriculum management, and administrative support for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
Primarily, the Senior Systems Administrator maintains systems on various platforms supported by LKSOM IT; collaborates with IT team members and staff in analyzing and implementing solutions based on the use of legacy, existing, and emerging systems; provides technical assistance to end-users; assists with the ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support of third-party vendor-supported computing environments.
In addition, the Senior Systems Administrator recommends process improvements; defines and implements strategies for systems managed under direction of Director of IT; communicates and develops ongoing rapport with internal and external contacts to provide complex technical information and service; assesses and anticipates recurring customer needs; understands, influences, and achieves system workflow goals; This position works closely with academic departments/programs, administrative units and third-party vendors to ensure system reliability, user support, and operational continuity.
Required Education and Experience:
*Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in Information Systems, Technology, Business, or a related field.
*5 years of progressively responsible experience administering enterprise or vendor-supported systems preferred.
*Experience supporting academic or administrative systems in a complex organizational environment.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Essential Functions:
*Serve as the primary system administrator and operational owner for assigned enterprise academic platforms.
*Administer, configure, and maintain vendor-supported academic systems, including evaluation, assessment, and scheduling platforms.
