JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Quality Medical Assistant works under general supervision of the physician, advanced practice provider, or nurse to promote high-quality patient care and service delivery. This role involves identifying opportunities for process and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. This position will also consult with multiple clinical sites to recommend and assist in workflow modifications to support care gap quality improvement goals.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education
    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience
    3 years of patient care experience
    Completion of Certified Medical Assistant training
  • Licenses and Certifications
    (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and
    Medical Assistant certification and maintenance of current certified status obtained through one of the following:
    (CMA) CERT MEDICAL ASSISTANT The American Association of Medical Assistants or
    (RMA) REG MEDICAL ASSISTANT The American Medical Technologists Association or
    (NRCMA) NAT REGD CERT MEDICAL ASSISTNT The National Association for Health Professionals or
    (NCMA) NATIONAL CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT The National Center for Competency Testing or
    (NHA-CCMA) Nat Hlthcareer CertClinMedAsst or
    (RMA) REG MEDICAL ASSISTANT National Allied Health
Preferred
  • Experience
    Working in a large, multispecialty medical center in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

JOB DUTIES
  • Identifies patients with care gaps utilizing identified care gap criteria and collaborates with multidisciplinary care teams to address those gaps.
  • Participates in pre-visit planning to ensure care gap closure and optimize patient encounters.
  • Conducts patient outreach to coordinate follow-up visits.
  • Arrange laboratory or imaging orders based on identified care needs following approved standing medical orders.
