About the role

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position at the intersection of Business Ethics and Artificial Intelligence, with a school affiliation at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management and placement in one of our seven areas: Accounting; Applied Economics and Policy; Finance; Management and Organizations; Marketing and Management Communications; Operations, Technology, and Information Management; or Strategy and Business Economics. The position is offered for one year, with the possibility of a second-year appointment, contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. In addition to carrying out his or her own research, the appointee will be expected to collaborate with faculty at the Johnson School on research and teaching and is expected to engage with faculty across the SC Johnson College of Business.

   

We invite applicants from both business and technical disciplines such as engineering, computer science, and computational social sciences. The position is intended to foster research into aspects of Business Ethics that might fall under any relevant business discipline, including (but not limited to) Accounting; Finance; Marketing; Operations, Technology, and Information Management; or Organizational Behavior.

A PhD degree and a strong interest in Business Ethics are required. Strong quantitative, communication, and project management skills are also required. Applicants with a track record of publication are strongly preferred.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools, the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan), with eight Areas that focus on different business disciplines. This position is open to all areas depending on the fit with the candidate’s research agenda.

In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - 100,000. Cornell University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
