Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for entry level engineers in our Military Avionics & Helicopters Flight Management and Controls department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software only products. Products supported with this role include:
FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) - Our software as a product used to support not only navigation, flight planning, and guidance with our MFMS-1000 solution, but also hazard avoidance in real time as part of our Avoidance Re-Router (ARR-7000), which are being deployed on a variety of emerging platforms and next generation pursuits. This position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30am to 4:30pm workday, or beyond a 40 hour work week. This is an onsite role, based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop Requirements in accordance with RTCA DO-178.
- Develop Test Cases in accordance with RTCA DO-178.
- Develop Python based Test Procedures in accordance with RTCA DO-178.
- Conduct Formal Qualification testing and support defect resolution.
- Agile Team tasking.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of at least one of the following: C, C++, ADA or Python.
- Willingness to travel (domestic and international <10%).
