Job Summary:

Assist in the execution of the daily operating, planning, and managing of warehouse and transportation functions delivering outstanding customer service to our customers and promoting a safe work environment for our team members

Key Responsibilities:

● Evaluate talent, provide performance feedback, and foster development opportunities to support the organizational planning process.

● Ensure performance successes are appropriately shared and celebrated by promoting team member recognition

● Recognize performance issues in a timely manner and partner with General Manager and HR Manager to develop action plans for resolution

● Assists in ensuring operational excellence across warehouse and transportation operations and adherence to divisional processes and procedures

● Actively coach, counsel, challenge, and inspire staff to facilitate growth and development

● Model, support, and ensure compliance to operational standards, company culture, beliefs, and values

● Establish and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of departments in order to implement strategic solutions

● Participate in the development of budgets, P&L Statements, and CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) plans for building improvements

● Assists in overseeing the facility and equipment, working to ensure all components of the facility are functioning properly

● Promote and provide exceptional (WOW) Customer Service by building and maintaining effective communication with carriers, vendors, internal and external customers that delivers innovative solutions to meet customer needs/exceptions and not compromise service

● Promote a safe workplace where individuals feel required to have a sense of duty for their safety and the safety of teammates; to include safe operation of equipment, reporting maintenance needs or unsafe conditions, following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SQF (Safe Quality Foods) standards and maintaining a neat and clean work environment free of hazards

● Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

● High School diploma or GED or equivalent. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred

● Bachelor's degree with Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics preferred

● Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and/or ISO 9001 preferred

● Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service

● Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

● Knowledge of GMP and SQF

Skills & Qualifications:

● Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources

● Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information

● Able to read, write, speak and understand English

● Ability to read paperwork, with or without corrective lenses

● Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling

● Ability to apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations
