- Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm NZT
- Including a 30 minute unpaid break

About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in financial, tax, and accounting activities. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with tax obligations, and providing financial insights that support decision-making at the executive and board levels.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly management accounts for all group companies.

Collaborate with the Finance Assistant to ensure accurate coding and treatment of transactions.

Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, including IFRS reporting.

Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and capitalisation records.

Support project accounting by aligning financial records with project budgets.

Assist with annual external audits, including documentation collation.

Provide ad hoc financial analysis to deliver insights for business decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting

Contribute to short-term cash flow forecasts.

Support annual budgeting across group companies.

Update and maintain reforecasts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
Tax Compliance

Prepare and file GST, FBT, and income tax returns.

Support interactions with NZ Inland Revenue (IRD) and Australian Tax Office (ATO).
Internal Controls & Systems

Assist the Finance Manager in strengthening internal financial controls.

Contribute to the implementation of improved finance systems, including IT solutions and data processes.
Qualifications & Experience

Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.

Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Experience with multiple accounting packages (e.g., Xero, ERP systems).

Working knowledge of IFRS and New Zealand tax legislation highly advantageous
