About Us

Our Digital Modelling Practice is a cornerstone of our Climate, Energy & Environmental Services (CE&ES) division, delivering complex quantitative modeling and impactful economic insights across Europe and the world. We are a team of world-class researchers and modellers dedicated to addressing the most pressing economic and environmental challenges of our time. Our contributions are featured in IPCC reports, published in top-tier scientific journals, and frequently peer-reviewed at the highest level. At the same time, we provide high-end evidence-based support to national and international organizations.

The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of quantitative transport modelling, working directly with integrated energy-transport models such as PRIMES and PRIMES-TREMOVE. This role supports research and development activities focused on simulating transport demand, analysing energy use in mobility systems, and evaluating the impact of transport policies on decarbonisation pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis: Source, structure, and maintain large-scale datasets from scientific, technical, and market domains related to transport activity, vehicle technologies, energy consumption, emissions, and socioeconomic indicators.

Demand Modelling: Apply and adapt transport demand modelling techniques within the PRIMES modelling suite, focusing on vehicle stock evolution, modal shifts, and behavioural responses to policy interventions.

Scenario Assessment: Interpret model outputs by examining causal mechanisms, identifying key drivers and trends in transport systems, and communicating insights through visualisation tools and written reports.

Tool Enhancement: Operate, calibrate, and further develop specific modules of our transport modelling frameworks, ensuring technical robustness and consistency with established modelling protocols.

Policy Integration: Translate real-world transport operations into quantitative modelling components that assess the effects of decarbonisation policies, infrastructure planning, and vehicle technology regulations.

Innovation & Methodology: Propose and test new modelling strategies, including behavioural modelling, multi-modal networks, and interlinkages with land use and energy systems to enhance the predictive power and transparency of transport analysis
