Waste Management is an industry leading organization in the environmental services space. We strive to maximize resource value while minimizing environmental impact. This internship is part of the Northern California – Nevada market area of Waste Management.
This is a fulltime internship opportunity, May 28th through August 9th. Interns will primarily work at a regional WM office in Northern California or Nevada. Interns will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and tour collection sites, landfills, and recycling centers.
We are seeking dynamic leaders who are ready to make a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve. Successful candidates may come from a variety of majors. In addition to learning about day to day operations, interns will lead a meaningful project for our Operations, Environmental Protection, Sales, or Technology departments. At the close of the program, interns will present their project to the Senior Area Leadership Team.
Work location: can sit in Reno, NV OR Carson City, NV sites. (Interns will need to work onsite for the duration of this project. Ideally seeking local candidates) Work hours: 40 hour work weeks M-F
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Uses problem solving skills, determines problems, and understand fundamental parts of the problem.
Conducts analysis as directed, and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis.
Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager.
Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.

A. Education and Experience
Education: Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship. Completed Course Work Hours: 60.0
Experience: No prior work experience required.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.
