Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis Global Communications team is seeking a Visual Designer! The person in this role will report to the Manager, Branding, Graphic Design & Digital Properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development of graphics for social media, internal communications, and presentations, as well as supporting larger design projects. This position will contribute to maintaining Novelis’ brand identity and help bring creative ideas to life while gaining experience in a global communications environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Visual Storytelling: Design infographics and visual assets that help simplify and communicate complex information for use across external reports, presentations, and digital platforms.
  • Social Media & Digital Content: Build static and animated graphics, short-form video clips, and other digital content tailored for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Facebook.
  • Website & Press Release Graphics: Build engaging visuals for use on novelis.com, intranet and in press releases, ensuring alignment with brand and message goals.
  • Print & Collateral Design: Develop polished, on-brand print materials including fact sheets, brochures, reports, event signage, and executive collateral.
  • Internal Communication Support: Supply graphics for internal platforms such as the intranet, email newsletters, and internal campaigns, as needed.
  • Executive Presentation Support: Design and format high-impact PowerPoint presentations for executive leadership, ensuring clarity, consistency, and visual polish.
  • Global Translation Support: Prepare visual assets to facilitate efficient translation and localization for global audiences, ensuring visual consistency across languages and markets.
  • Asset Management: Assist in organizing, tagging, and upload final files and reusable templates into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to support global access and reuse.
  • Brand Stewardship: Apply and uphold Novelis’ global brand guidelines across all projects to maintain a consistent, high-quality visual identity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the global communications team and partners across regions to deliver creative solutions that meet project goals and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of design experience in an agency, corporate, or in-house setting
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects or Premiere Pro)
  • Strong experience in visualizing information, crafting infographics, and designing for both digital and print media
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and standard processes for executive-level presentations
  • Excellent communication and project management skills; highly meticulous
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple team members
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of work across digital, print, and motion graphics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience crafting content for LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms
  • Experience crafting for web use, such as banner images or hero graphics (HTML/CSS knowledge not required)
  • Exposure to Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and organizing shared files
  • Prior experience working with or supporting global or corporate teams
  • Experience with motion graphics (e.g., animated GIFs, short-form video, and video editing tools)
  • Experience adapting materials for translation or localization across languages and markets
