Business Intelligence Analyst Intern

The Elevator Pitch  

Do you want to gain hands-on experience in Business Intelligence? Are you eager to learn and develop critical skills for your future career as an analyst? 

In this 10-week Business Intelligence Analyst Intern role, you will help to improve the overall business decision making ability of the organization with data, models, and supporting stakeholder goals. Not only will you be gaining critical skills in business intelligence, but you will also have the opportunity to be exposed to the ins and outs of the company, while getting exposure to all other departments and how they operate. 

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first half and second half of the internship you will work toward completing?  

In the first 5 weeks, you will: 

• Understand Evolv, our product and culture, what we do, and why we do it 
• Meet with stakeholders across the business and familiarize yourself with business needs 
• Gain some familiarity with the flow of data in the business and some of the quality challenges 
• Independently open tickets on non-conforming data issues 
• Apply skills from school to business problems 
• Apply concepts from existing processes to new problems as they arise 

In the last 5 weeks, you will: 

• Independently handle multiple assigned projects, filling existing gaps in operations 
• Make recommendations to the team about possible process improvements as well as innovative ways to meet stakeholder needs 
• Successfully complete three significant projects that lead to better understanding of our business 
• Meet business challenges with eagerness and genuine interest in solving complex problems with data 
• Seek out additional responsibility and not wait for problems to be brought to you 
• Have a better idea of what you want or don’t want out of your career 

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? 

• Review datasets for completeness, correctness, and quality making corrections on discrepancies that are identified.  
• Run relevant reports independently to respond to requests to complete tasks.  
• Assist in identifying new and emerging issues / trends in data.  
• Additional special projects based on availability and workload.  
• Assist in cleaning and correcting data errors, duplications, and formatting issues. 
• Collaborate with other teams, including Revenue Applications, and utilize data management tools, Excel, Tableau, and the Evolv CRM (Salesforce) to improve data quality.

• You will be joining the Finance and Accounting Team, reporting to the Business Intelligence Data Analyst.

Where is the role located?  

• The location of this role is based in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days.  We do not provide relocation assistance at this time.

What is the pay range?

• The hourly pay range for this internship position is $22-$26 an hour. Our pay ranges are determined by your current level of education.
