Job Family Definition:
Responsible for delivery of sales training programs that produce desired business outcomes. Plans, schedules, and delivers customized training programs for sales on technical topics and other identified skill areas and evaluates effectiveness of organizational development education solutions. Collaborates with company business segments, global functions, and Centers of Expertise to customize/localize delivery solutions as required. Encourages participation and meets target audience needs to facilitate change management in sellers.
Management Level Definition:
Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, sales methodologies and delivery techniques. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative training ideas and solutions. Leads large, cross-division sales training or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to sellers. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.
Responsibilities:
- Form and maintain relationships with Business Partners, Channel (internal), and Geo leads to ensure training excellence in sales skills and product knowledge.
- Professionally collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best learning practices for sales and product/solution training.
- Deliver HPE's comprehensive sales and product/solution curriculum to both internal sellers and channel partners through engaging classroom instruction, while encouraging participation and producing desired outcomes.
- Stay current on the rapidly changing HPE portfolio, solutions, and sales methodologies to ensure accurate and relevant training content.
- Utilize participant feedback to continually improve sales skills and product/solution training programs.
- Create supplementary learning materials such as relevant business examples to reinforce classroom training on sales techniques and HPE offerings.
- Expertly manages the training environment to effectively monitor learner needs and report on training program effectiveness and participant learning outcomes.
- Develops an informal learning community and extends the learning relationship beyond Onboarding to act as an ongoing Coach/Mentor to sellers.
Qualifications:
- First level university degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years demonstrated presentation, facilitation, and consulting experience.
- 7+ years sales experience, with a deep understanding of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.
- 7+ years sales training experience or in sales enablement role.
- Familiar with various sales methodologies (i.e. Challenger, Solution Selling, Outcome-based Selling)
- Knowledge of HPE offerings, solutions, and services.
- Understanding of as-a-service sales models and their impact on the sales process.
- Must be able to work independently on multiple tasks including program management and exercise judgment within defined parameters.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and a background knowledge of content development would be useful.
- Ability to be collaborative, solution-focused
