Stantec is now accepting resumes for Summer 2026 Civil Engineering interns within our Community Development Group in San Antonio Texas. You will work in a team environment and have exposure to community development projects that may include urban design and planning, roadways, park and recreation design, multi-use trail and pathway design, traffic engineering, landscape architecture, assessment and rehabilitation, infrastructure design, water and wastewater conveyance, and storm water management. We provide efficient solutions that are environmentally responsible, functional, and technically sound. Our structure cultivates career growth and provides opportunities as unique as you are. Some positions may require remote work with housing and meal per diems covered by Stantec.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Use technical and communication abilities to complete the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting
- Assist with preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other project deliverables
- Attend meetings on an as needed basis
- Complete detailed reports as required
- Procure permits and other approvals from various agencies
- Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, and other project stakeholders
- Assist with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong interest in community development engineering disciplines
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
- Ability to work independently
- Must have a vehicle, good driving record, and valid driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma and some college level courses.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk.
