A Brief Overview
CHOP Foundation's Donor Relations team is hiring a Senior Writer. As a Donor Relations Senior Writer you will serve as an integral member of the Foundation by collaborating with internal and external partners as part of a fast-paced, ambitious fundraising team. This requires a highly skilled communicator who excels at collaborating with a diverse range of constituents. You will work closely with members of the Principal Giving team and Major Gifts team, as well as clinical, administrative, and other internal and external partners, to develop a range of donor-facing written materials.

You will serve as a writer primarily for principal gift-level Major Gifts and custom stewardship reports for individuals, corporations, foundations and other organizations. Additionally, you will develop a wide range of other collateral, including concept papers, cultivation materials and other print or electronic pieces.

• Assessment: Selected candidates will be required to take a written assessment. More details will be shared upon candidate advancement.
• Reports to: Senior Associate Director, Donor Relations
• Schedule: Hybrid setting. Mostly remote with some instances of onsite meetings and team retreats, etc.

What you will do

• Articulate the mission and vision of CHOP and CHOP Foundation through clear, compelling written donor communications
• Write, edit and project-manage customized and high-level impact reports for principal and major gift donors.
• Develop content that reflects donor intent, showcases outcomes and highlights stories of children, families, and care teams.
• Craft thoughtful and informative endowment reports and related materials that illustrate the enduring impact of endowed funds and demonstrate responsible stewardship.
• Craft speeches and event remarks for Hospital leadership for fundraising and public events for the Hospital
• Collaborate with clinicians, researchers and program leads to gather accurate program data and compelling narrative details.
• Navigate the Foundation’s CRM to effectively leverage donor data in personalized communication
• Maintain an organized workflow of deliverables, ensuring timely completion and approval of all writing projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with a keen attention to detail and consistency.
• Maintain high-level knowledge of Foundation and Hospital messaging to ensure consistency in style and language across all communications materials
• Demonstrate a consistent level of the highest quality of writing while accommodating the Foundation's fast-paced environment

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in any field - Required
• Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of professional writing experience - Required and
• At least two (2) years of development communications experience - Required and
• At least one (1) year of experience writing about medical/scientific topics - Preferred and
