General Function:

The ABL Team Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the growth of ABL products/services across half of the United States (east/west).  This position oversees a team of sales professionals, develops strategic sales plans, oversees execution and builds relationships with clients and key stakeholders to expand the ABL product penetration across the middle market.  The role requires deep knowledge of ABL financing; loans secured by collateral such as accounts receivable, inventory and fixed assets, combined with strong sales acumen and the ability to navigate complex financial markets.

colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and motivate a team of ABL originators to achieve or exceed loan origination goals.

  • Assist assigned originators in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities by targeting companies that can benefit from ABL solutions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, financial decision makers and referral sources to secure ABL opportunities.

  • Understand the clients' business environments, strategies, and industry to better determine potential new business opportunities and provide the appropriate solution(s).

  • Design and implement national sales strategies tailored to market trends, competitor activity, and the unique needs of ABL clients, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Oversee the sales pipeline, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring consistent follow-through and accurate forecasting of loan volumes and timing.

  • Ensure the originations teams partner with underwriting, credit. portfolio and operations teams to structure transactions that that balance client needs with risk management standards.

  • Monitor industry trends, economic conditions and regulatory changes affecting ABL to position the Bank as a market leader.

  • Train originations team members on ABL products, sales techniques and industry-specific knowledge to enhance performance and client engagement.

  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to internal policies/guidelines.

  • Analyze and recommend changes in sales organizational structure and roles to best meet the needs of the business.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing employees timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

Minimum Knoeledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in finance, accounting or economics. Advanced degree would be a plus.

  • 15 years of ABL experience, preferable across disciplines (Sales/Underwriting/Portfolio).

  • 5 years of Sales Management experience with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets.  Experience across multiple regions/markets preferred.

  • Experience in managing a national or multi-regional sales team is highly desirable.

  • Position requires an in-depth knowledge of ABL products, policies and procedures, strategies, compensation, etc.

  • Strategic Agility, Ability to create strategy and drive strategy to execution.

  • Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills are required.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify (internally and externally), development, and manage talent.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

  • Innovative thinker that can drive change throughout the organization.
