Staffing Specialist - Weekend Days

The Staffing Specialist works with nursing units to oversee the daily operations of unit staffing levels. Staffing and Scheduling* Enters schedules as provided by managers.* Publishes available shifts for staff to sign up.* Deploys staff to appropriate units.* Approves vacations and communicates to the staff.* Enters all education dates and classes to ADP.* Maintains float pool staffing levels and deploys as necessary.* Tracks attendance and tardiness and relays to the managers as needed.* Coordinates with the HUB to ensure staffing levels match demand and acuity of each nursing unit.* Maintains strict confidentiality of private information.* Assists Hub with fielding calls and issues as needed. Qualifications:A. Education1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute requiredB. Experience1. One year of experience in a healthcare environment preferred2. Proficient in MS Office software, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint3. Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines4. Organizational skills with attention to detail5. Ability to think outside the box6. Ability to exercise judgment/discretion in making independent decisions7. Ability to multitask and to establish and manage shifting priorities
