Challenges You Will SolveThe Threat Hunting Team is the security operations face of Red Canary! We are the customer’s unique ally in helping secure their organization. Our team helps the customer understand the full scope of information available to them and make informed decisions about their environment. As the customer-facing role and voice of Red Canary’s day-to-day security interactions with our customer we play a myriad of roles.
We act as a trusted partner and an extension of our customers’ security teams to help them to understand and mature their overall security programs. When threats are detected in customer environments, we help by taking ownership of the customer's success and providing any resources they need to remediate and recover. We proactively hunt for potential cyber threats in customer environments, using our findings to both inform customers and improve future detections.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a principal level technical contributor and Threat Hunting capability lead on a team which partners with customers, helping them understand the full scope of information available and make informed decisions about their security program 
• Deep dive into processes, procedures, and tools to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency and lead the implementation of new approaches in conjunction with leadership
• Proactively mentor other Threat Hunters by sharing knowledge, skills, and experiences and helping them to grow and develop their own skills
• Augment the automated detection of Red Canary’s technical stack with human driven hunting, to identify anomalous behaviors within customer environments, and use your hunting results to drive innovation of Red Canary’s detection capabilities
• Tailor communication to the customer’s level of expertise, providing education and information to help them understand the bigger picture and make educated decisions
• Identify, scope, and manage ongoing customer incidents, develop remediation plans, and augment the customer’s security gaps with the necessary skills and resources to improve their security maturity
• Immerse yourself in the customer’s environment enough to immediately recognize evidence of potential threats 
• Partner with the Detection Engineering, Intelligence, and Research teams to further investigate identified or emerging threats relevant to our customers

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of working in the cybersecurity industry
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey highly complex technical topics and findings to others
• Ability to lead engagements within high-pressure environments and build trust with customers
• Expert level understanding of Information Security controls including system-level controls, network controls, and security operations, across Endpoint, Cloud, SaaS, and Identity
• Advanced knowledge of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) capabilities and multiple EDR products and ability to compare and contrast product capabilities
• Foundational knowledge of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) processes
• Ability to create processes around analyzing and investigating alerts and threats for anomalous, suspicious, or malicious activity in a corporate environment and support remediation efforts
• Ability to create processes and methodologies to support proactively hunting for potential cyber threats
• Ability to create processes and methodologies to support proactively advising customers and helping them to respond to activity within their environment
• Experience mentoring others as they advance their technical skills

Targeted base salary: $152,600 - $185,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
