Overview: ZF Test Systems develops and produces test benches for on- and off-road mobility. The Test Systems Business Unit is a special machine building branch within the ZF group, specialized in Test equipment design / installation / commissioning. Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and evaluation of project programs from initial conception to full execution for an array of different programs. These project and programs will center on the topic of customer capital equipment assembly, onsite installation and commissioning.  Must utilize defined ZF methodology and close cooperation with the customer and Test System organization. This position oversees managing the design and development of projects from concept to after implementation evaluations while directing and steering team members (internal/ external) for successful completion of a project both within time and budgetary constraints.

 

What you can look forward to as a Project Manager:

  • Work with management to define projects scope & expectations.
  • Create & control documentation which instruct project management from headquarters, engineering, purchasing, service, and other team functions on the project scope from customer PO to customer acceptance and handover to service. 
  • Support the troubleshooting and resolution of arising issues on the customer side as well as on Test Systems side. Lead and direct the project and manage conflicts within the team/area. 
  • Support tasks in the field of Service after handover to insure proper know how transfer. 
  • Create & support Audit processes of documentation, procedures, backups & systems.
  • Develop & maintain a roadmap for project controlling which incorporates local and global targets, goals for projects as well as corporate initiatives in transforming the operations. 
  • Routinely provide supervision of a project or multiple projects to achieve a cohesive vision. 
  • Report status of Project(s) to Steering committee/Management Team/Business Unit and implement actions to mitigate any risks to the project.

*Ability/willingness to travel: on average 30-50% (mainly US, Canada, and Mexico)

 

Your profile as a Project Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Technical preferred).
  • 4 -6+ years of experience in the field of Project Management within the capital equipment (testing equipment) industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, demanding environment. 
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management.
