Job Description:
GERBER COLLISION & GLASS -
The Mechanic in the collision shop performs any and all general maintenance required to repair the vehicles assigned for repairs, that can include all any and all of the below that are required in this position:
DIAGNOSTIC & ELECTRICAL REPAIRS
MOUNTING, BALANCING, AND ALIGNMENT
SUSPENSION WORK (OVERHAUL SUSPENSION, if needed)
AIRBAG CHECKS AND REPLACEMENT
Key Job Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
Inspects and identifies equipment/vehicles in need of repair.
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Plans repair work using equipment manuals, follow Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications when repairing a vehicle.
Performs general repairs, diagnostic/electrical repairs, mount/balance/alignment, suspension, and airbag.
Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and buildings as assigned.
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
ASE and prior training, could be a new graduate with some training.
Related experience preferred.
On-the-job training can be offered in some opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior workers.
Knowledge of general repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Diagnostic & Electrical repairs
Mount, Balance, & Alignments
Suspension work, and overhaul of suspension (if needed)
Airbag Checks, and repair/replacement of Airbags
Other Requirements
Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
