SUMMARY:
This position is located at our Corporate Office in Warwick, RI. Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM.
Under the supervision of the IT Service Desk Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures, preforms a variety of functions to assist in the daily operations of the imaging sites by coordinating all electronic medical records requests. Works effectively with members of the Information Technology (IT) Department to coordinate efforts for system upgrades and other activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Ensures that all interactions are in compliance with HIPAA, federal and state compliance regulations.
Responsible for receiving and fulfilling all requests for Electronic Medical Records/Images. This will include but, is not limited to, uploading/downloading reports/images to/from cloud-connected institutions via respective software while working closely with all RI Medical Imaging Sites.
EMR coordinator will be the single point-of-contact for all cloud-connected institutions.
Become familiar with all systems and interfaces that interact with the EHR.
Assist maintaining the company EHR database for referring physicians; adding new, updating existing and/or deactivating retired. Forwarding such information to the appropriate billing and IT personnel and applying to patient accounts, as needed.
Other daily tasks as assigned and on an as needed basis.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage, organize, communicate and motivate staff in a manner which ensures meeting corporate goals and objectives.
Organizational and analytical skills to compile and interpret data.
Proficiency in EHR, Microsoft Office and basic PC skills.
Basic medical knowledge recommended.
Able to multi-task with a high-level attention to detail.
Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with patients, referring physicians, outside institutions, staff, and Radiologists.
EDUCATION:
Associate degree in related field or specific comparable experience. Knowledge of medical office procedures.
